  <title>2008 Christmas Gathering</title>
  <link>http://www.cogeocaching.net/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=19</link>
<description>We are starting to lay plans for a 2008 Christmas gathering. December 11th is our goal. This is the normal 2nd Thursday date for the monthly COG Cache &amp; Coffee.

Last year we had about 30 people. We need SOME idea of how many would plan to attend this year. One location can handle 35 to 40 people. It&#039;s an Italian Restaurant in uptown Westerville. If the group get larger than that, we&#039;ll need to find another location.

Post a reply with the number of adults and children and also suggestions for a larger place if needed.

Thanks,

NCOG and COG would like to welcome ALL geocachers to a family cookout Geo-Event. This will be a great way to meet cachers that have found your caches, as well as those whom you may have met briefly in the past while caching! We have a fun filled day that will be sure to keep everyone&#039;s attention! Follow This Link For Very Important Information About This Event! The event this year will be held at Alum Creek State Park / US Army Corps of Engineers Below Dam Recreation Area. We have contacted the USACE, and have made reservations for Shelter House #1 on Saturday July 26, 2008. This will promise to be a great event, and one that should not be missed!

What?: NCOG / COG Family Cookout
Where?: N 40 11.087 W 082 57.759 (Below Dam area at Alum Creek State Park: Shelter House #1)
When?: Saturday, July 26 2008
Who?: ALL Geocachers
Why?: To meet fellow geocachers, geocache, and socialize!
Cost?: Non-Perishable Items - We are asking all geocachers bring non-perishable items to donate to a local food bank being run by one of our local churches. By following the link above, you will see what this church needs. They are self-funded, and deliver food to those selected based on income and situations. Please consider this!

We ask that you bring a covered dish or two to share for the cookout. The meat (burgers and dogs), and condiments will be provided. Electric will be available for items needed to stay warm.

What do we have in store for you? Well, the schedule will run something like this:

11:00AM - Geocachers Start Arriving. Sign Log Book. A TB/GC Trade Table will also be provided. Bring your coins for discovery, and your signature items for trade as well! Socialize.
1:00PM - Cookout will commence. Continue Socializing, enjoying the afternoon.
1:45PM - Kids Games- 3 Legged Races, Water Balloon Toss, Egg Carry, etc. All kids who participate will receive a prize pack!
2:45PM - Raffle. We will have ready made caches and some other neat prizes to give away!
3:00PM - Socialize or get out and geocache! We will have 5 or 6 new caches hidden in the park, to be released the day of the event. There are also caches already in the area for you to find!

Camping will also be available if you choose this option. The event will not consist of camping, but all camping information can be found at this link.

We would appreciate it if you could post a Will Attend with the following information:

How Many Attending in your party (Adults and kids):
How Many Kids Participating in Games:
What You Plan To Bring For The Cookout:

Please consider attending this event! Again, it is open to ALL geocachers, not just NCOG or COG members. We hope this will become a yearly cookout for North and South to meet!</description>
